For more than a century, the American Red Cross has been the leader in teaching people how to save lives with health and safety education programs. The South Central Connecticut Chapter trained approximately 15,100 individuals during the 2006-2007 fiscal year in all 15 towns we cover in lifesaving courses.

Red Cross training extends from CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), First Aid and AED (automated external defibrillation) to swimming and lifeguarding; from HIV/AIDS education to caregiving programs such as Babysitter’s Training and Connecticut Child Care for daycare centers and providers. The South Central CT Chapter also has a private occupational school for training people as Certified Nursing Assistants as well as a Phlebotomy/EKG course.

American Red Cross programs help people live safer and healthier lives. The Red Cross constantly strives to respond to the health and safety concerns of Americans at home, in school and in the workplace.
